Manage Windows File Protection Scans (Windows 2000/XP)

This setting controls whether the Windows File Checker (SFC) should scan and replace the protected files during boot up.

1.Open your registry and find or create the key below.

2.Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, called "SFCScan" and set it according to the value data below.

Exit your registry; you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.

Value Name : SFCScan
Data Type : REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data : 0 = disabled, 1 = scan every boot, 2 = scan once
