Create a System Crash Dump File (Windows NT/2000/XP)

This setting controls whether Windows creates a dump file of the computer memory when a system crashes.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Change the value of "CrashDumpEnabled" according to the options in the table below.

  • 0 = None
  • 1 = Complete memory dump
  • 2 = Kernel memory dump
  • 3 = Small memory dump (64KB)
    Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
